Mary Freitas, President, Treasurer, Director:

Current well respected business owner within the community for four years. She has been involved in organizing fundraising events within the community for four years. Prior to that Mary was involved with organized fundraisers for twelve years.

Average hours worked due to the Foundation just starting and planning an event is approximately 15-20 hours per week.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Maintaining the books/records
  • Makes deposits
  • Meet, propose and contract with independent contractors for events
  • Meet, propose and contract with charitable organizations
  • Meet, propose and contract speakers and entertainment for events
  • Organize charitable items to auction
  • Director responsibilities, approving any and all necessary issues brought
    to the boards attention to be voted on.

 

 

Darlene McNeal, Secretary and Director  

Darlene McNeal has joined the Roseann Gregory Cancer Foundation as a Director.   Darlene has 15 years of experience in event planning, including women’s conferences; event food preparation, such as the Purity Ball and numerous other events; and community service.  Darlene has a heart for the community, family and God.  She has been married to her husband Matthew for 23 years and is the proud mother of two sons, Wesley and Brandon.  Darlene has been a Training Coordinator at Indian River State College for more than 10 years but recently retired to take care of her brand new granddaughter, Brynlee.  In her free time Darlene enjoys spending time with her family and many friends.

  • Responsible for second signer on checks and the expenses
  • Research
  • Write any copy necessary
  • Fill out forms, applications, etc
  • Keeping a record of all the business conduct, maintain the corporate seal, conduct meetings accordingly, agendas, maintain the minute book, and all other necessary corporate books
  • Director responsibilities, approving any and all necessary issues brought to the boards attention to be voted on.

 

Danielle Visconte, Director

Danielle is currently the Payroll Administrator for Seacoast Bank. Danielle has used her skills obtained as a payroll and benefits administrator, executive administrative support and an entrepreneur to jump start a career in Human Resources. Danielle was a performance-driven and dedicated administrative professional with VGTI Florida Research Institute for several years and obtained progressive experience in office management, event coordination, program development, handling vendor relations, recordkeeping and reporting.

With a solid commitment to excellence, Danielle delivers innovative and cost effective solutions and is responsible for the administrative and payroll solutions for Seacoast Bank.

Danielle is recognized by her peers and senior leadership as an outgoing project manager, detailed orientated, flawless in her execution of projects and serves as a mentor to others.

Rita Markowitz, Treasurer Rita Markowitz

Rita is currently employed with the St. Lucie County School Board as a Hight School Counselor after receiving her Master’s Degree in Education from Florida Atlantic University. She has taught Mathematics in St. Lucie County for 11 years at the high school and middle school level prior to becoming a Counselor. Her work experience includes Office Manager for an Investment firm on Wall Street, Executive Assistant with an Investment firm in Florida, and Owning/Managing a franchised restaurant business. She currently serves as a Mentor in the Take Stock in Children Program through IRSC.

She has been married to her husband Ronnie for 31 years and is the proud mother of two and grandmother of two. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking, and reading.

  • Responsible for signing checks, expenses, and making deposits
  • Completing applications for licenses and corporate filing
  • Coordinating/tracking registration for events

Tammy Sutcliffe, Director      PF-Tammy-Sutcliffe                                                        

Tammy Serrano obtained an MBA in Strategic Leadership from Amberton University. She is currently a Project Support Specialist for the Institute for the Professional Development of Adult Educators, at Indian River State College. Tammy has over 13 years of experience working in higher education. She has worked in a variety of roles which have allowed her the opportunity to gain experience in event coordination, team building, budget management, project development and grant writing. She volunteers at every opportunity she has to help raise funds for causes close to her heart; such as cancer, autism and scholarships. In her spare time Tammy loves to travel and create memories with her two children, James and Nina Sutcliffe, and her husband, Bilmer Serrano. She loves the Lord, her family and friends.
