Board members and volunteers of the Roseann Gregory Cancer Foundation (RGCF) operated one of the concession stands at Tradition Field during the N.Y Mets’ last spring training game of the season, $1,510 were raised at this event.  The RGCF actively volunteers at different community events in an effort to increase their fundraising abilities.

The Roseann Gregory Cancer Foundation presented checks totaling of $35,000 to five local organizations. The funds were raised during the Foundation’s 3rd Gala, “Bella Notte, an Evening in Italy,” which was held in February. The benefactors included HANDS St. Lucie, Harbor Branch Oceanographic Foundation FAU, IRSC Foundation, Martin Health Foundation and VGTI Florida. Checks were presented during a wine and cheese reception held at VGTI Florida on Monday, May 12, 2014.

RGCF President and founder Mary Melber was particularly excited about this year’s donations.

“We were able to give so much more this year and to even more organizations than we have in the past,” Melber said. “We chose these organizations because each one uniquely fills a need in our community that fits with our foundation’s mission statement. We were able to fund research, education, and assistance to cancer patients. We had such unbelievable support from all our sponsors, volunteers and local businesses and that made it possible for us to give so much this year.”

Roseann Gregory Forms Foundatio:

The Roseann Gregory Cancer Foundation, Inc. was founded in honor of a woman who dedicated her life to helping others. Roseann worked with the mentally challenged before working as an LPN at her local hospital. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She believed in positive thinking and instilled hope in others.

In 2007, Roseann was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Throughout her battle she never questioned “why me” and never felt sorry for herself. She knew the chances of living past five years with this horrible disease were slim. However, that didn’t stop Roseann from enjoying the little things in life. She thought every day was a gift, even the bad days. She never took anything for granted!

Roseann was a blessing. We hope all who share her heart through this foundation are blessed as well.
